External Job Description:

• The Metrology Engineer 4 will serve as the lead technical representative for NNS in the robotics integration, test and delivery for the Joint Manufacturing Assembly Facility (JMAF)

robotics integration for the Submarine Program.

• Responsibilities will be with the Metrology applications, design placement of the tooling and data scripting essential to the success of the APCO fixture designed for robotic control use.

• Additionally; this position is responsible for assuming the technical lead for 3D data acquisition, interpretation of technical (design) requirements associated with metrology activities, analysis of survey data and reported results.

• 3D scripting in Spatial Analyzer (SA), SA Machine and robotics training are essential qualifications required for this position.

Develops and evaluates metrology calibration systems that measure characteristics of objects. Identifies magnitude of error sources contributing to uncertainty of results to determine reliability of measurement process in quantitative terms. Develops calibration methods and techniques based on principles of measurement science, technical analysis of measurement problems and accuracy and precision requirements.
