Ferguson Enterprises, Inc. Global Sourcing Development Manager in Newport News, Virginia
The Global Sourcing Development Manager is responsible for aligning Ferguson’s Global Sourcing Strategy across the enterprise. This individual will facilitate the development of Global Sourcing, Category Management and Supply Chain to drive greater agility, resilience, effectiveness, and efficiency through the deployment and use of new technologies, best practices, data control, and management processes.
The Global Sourcing Development Manager reports to the VP of Global Sourcing and will work closely with those who are involved in the design, development, and support of Global Sourcing strategy. The role owns the development of the Capability and Portfolio, and to facilitate and assist the leadership team in the growth of this business-critical function.
Strategy & Planning
Uses roadmap developed by the VP of Sourcing as guide to align multiple departments and individuals to insure execution of strategy. Assist where necessary in developing roadmap.
Owns the business operating model for the Sourcing and Procurement functions to include the definition and maintenance of Operational Processes, Data, Systems, and Role definitions.
Provides Governance and Organizational structure.
Drives the development of Reporting and Analytics.
Works with the IT and the other supporting corporate functions on the service portfolio and governance to support the roadmap
Provides strategic direction and oversight for the design, development, operation and support of Global Sourcing platform that fulfill the needs of the business
Deployment & Operational Management
Develops and controls the annual operating and capital expenditure budget for the Global Sourcing platforms to ensure it is consistent with overall objectives of the enterprise and is within plan.
Participates in the assessment of external and internal technology capabilities required to achieve desired competitive positioning.
Manages the business elements of change impacting the Sourcing and Procurement Teams, and interface with the IT organizations delivering Project and Program Management, Technical, Data and Solution Architecture and Software Development services to ensure change initiatives do not adversely impact the departments.
Leads the teams to effectively manage the change initiatives requiring business work stream delivery to include the establishment and management of Project delivery teams and/or the delivery of change through contracted third parties.
Forecasts future skill needs to acquire and develop.
Drive continuous Process Improvement processes across the portfolio of Global Sourcing operations to include the coordination and management of events including FEI Lean teams, external third parties, and large project initiatives.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in business administration or related field, or equivalent work experience
Ten (10) years of experience working in International Trade and/or Global Sourcing operations
Experience with international trade compliance platforms
Proven experience in a leadership role transforming and/or managing complex business change programs strategies and operations
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Proven experience in strategic planning, organizing, and developing teams, whether staff or third parties
Demonstrated excellence in delivering cross-functional and transformational capabilities
Substantial exposure to International Trade Compliance – experience with GTNexus platform or similar is preferred
Strong understanding of Procure-to-Pay and Supply Chain processes, business practices, solutions, and regulatory requirements
Proven leadership ability; ability to instill confidence across the enterprise and partners
In-depth knowledge of leading International Trade platforms and implementations
Deep understanding of current and emerging trends and technologies and how other enterprises are employing them
Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to develop and communicate a vision that inspires and motivates staff and aligns to the broader business and IT strategy
Effective influencing and negotiation skills in an environment where resources may not be in direct control of this role
Excellent analytical, strategic conceptual thinking, strategic planning and execution skills
Strong business acumen, including industry, domain-specific knowledge of the enterprise and its business units
Strong vendor management and partner relation skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts and technologies to business leaders, and business concepts to the IT workforce
Direct experience of Change Management initiatives, with a clear understanding of the communications, training, and people support activities required to successfully embed change within a business#LI-Corporate
